Version 1 US and European versions contain a card slot in addition
to cartridge slot. A version 2 model was released which was basically
a cut down version with the card port removed.
Released around the same
time as the Super Nintendo the Megadrive did well in the UK. It was
released in two versions. There are numerous add-ons released for it
such as the MegaCD.
The Game Gear was Sega
attempt at a handheld system. It enjoyed partial success in the US
and had a large range of software titles as it's basically a handheld
version of the master system so games were easily ported to it.
32 bit processor add on for megadrive. Coped with basic 3D graphics.
CD based console never
really stood a chance against the Sony marketing machine and the PlayStation.

Sega's last and greatest console; Its full achievement only really recognised after its demise in 2000.
