Version 1 US and European versions contain a card slot in addition to cartridge slot. A version 2 model was released which was basically a cut down version with the card port removed.

sega megadrive
Released around the same time as the super nintendo the megadrive did well in the UK. It was released in two versions. There are numerous addons released for it such as the MegaCD.

The Game Gear was Sega attempt at a handheld system. It enjoyed partial sucess in the US and had a large range of software titles as its basically a handheld version of the master system so games were easily ported to it.

32 bit processor add on for megadrive. Coped with basic 3D graphics.

CD based console never really stood a chance against the sony marketing machine and the Playstation. Hitachi SH2 32-Bit RISC 28.6MHz
1998
sega dreamcast
Sega have stopped production of the Dreamcast. In fact they've ceased console production completely. This was a much under-rated system which has some truely great games.
